Fibromyalgia is widespread and attacks all muscles and nerves of the body. Localized areas of tenderness, or trigger points, are also frequently seen in fibromyalgia sufferers. These points are located in the tissue around the neck, shoulder, back, and hips.
Fibromyalgia can be related to tendinitis, osteoarthritis, and bursitis. For some suffers, the pain comes and goes, but for others the pain is constant.
Women and fibromyalgia
Strangely women are ten times more likely to suffer from fibromyalgia than men.
